September 15th--This day in history

Continuing with the theme from yesterday, I will highlight some more "today in history" for you all. First and most important, today is my Mom's birthday. She was born September 15, 1938.

Here is a picture of her taken a few years ago at my sister's house. We were laughing so hard we were crying! My mom drives me crazy a great deal of the time, but she is also one of my best friends and the best Grandmother a person could ask for! Happy Birthday Mom!

Other notable birthdays on this date are Gaylord Perry (1938) who Mom claims as a twin! Dan Marino (1961), Tommy Lee Jones  and Oliver Stone (1946), Agatha Christie (1890) and William Howard Taft (1857)

Speaking of William Howard Taft, I also got the privilege to visit his boyhood home while on my Ohio trip this summer.

William Howard Taft was the only man in history to serve as President (27th) and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (10th). He also served in many other high positions in the United States and abroad. He was also the first president to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery and the only Chief Justice to have a state funeral.
